    How to get to Dordogne?

    Dordogne by air

    Easy access from the UK
The southern Dordogne is well served by several airports and is probably one of the easiest regions in France to get to from the UK and Ireland.

Lalinde, Its location just 23 kilometers from Aéroport Bergerac Dordogne-Périgord makes it easy and quickly accessible for all our international guests. Also within a two hours drive are the airports from Bordeaux and Limoges.

There are several low-cost operators offering cheap flights between major UK airports and the South West of France, e.g. London-Stanstead and Bergerac (Ryanair); Southampton and Bergerac (Flybe); Bristol and Bergerac (Flybe); Cardiff and Toulouse (Bmibaby); East Midlands and Toulouse (Bmibaby). These are just a few examples and routes are added all the time. It takes approximately an hour to fly from Bergerac to Stanstead, making your family and friends closer, time wise ,than if you each live on the other side of the M25.

The Bergerac Dordogne Périgord Airport welcomes direct flights from London Stansted, Liverpool, Nottingham East Midlands, Bristol, Bruxelles-Charleroi with Ryanair, from Leeds with Jet2, from London City with British Airways and from Birmingham, Edinburgh, Manchester, Southampton and Exeter with Flybe.

    By car:

Although there are no ferry crossings to Bordeaux, plenty of boats arrive on Brittany or Normandy shores daily. Visitors wishing to embark as a foot passenger should know that direct train services from the port towns are few and far between. This means that bringing the car is almost unavoidable unless you’re willing to make a couple of changes.
The time it takes to drive from the UK depends very much on which ferry crossing you’ve chosen and how leisurely your approach is to touring through France. Nonetheless, it is always possible to drive down in a day or a night if you’re equipped with a second driver.

    Ferries and Crossings:

Brittany Ferries: Portsmouth to Caen-Ouistreham, Cherbourg, Le Havre and St Malo, Poole to Cherbourg, Plymouth/Cork to Roscoff.
Condor Ferries: Portsmouth to Cherbourg, from late May to early September.
    P&O: Dover to Calais.
LD Lines – DFDS Seaways: Newhaven to Dieppe and Dover to Calais or Dunkirk.
